Elysium Health has launched Creatine+, a three-ingredient creatine system that combines creatine monohydrate with HMB (beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate) and pomegranate polyphenols, positioned for healthy aging rather than athletic performance alone.
The company describes the product as a 3-in-1 system designed to act on several biological pathways linked to long-term muscle health, including age-related muscle decline, physical function, and cognition. It was developed with the advisement of Michael Fredericson, M.D., Co-Director of the Stanford Center on Longevity and a member of the Elysium scientific advisory board.
The formulation brings together micronized creatine monohydrate, HMB, and pomegranate polyphenols standardized to urolithin A precursors. Elysium points to research it cites as Jówko et al., Nutrition, 2001, indicating that pairing creatine with HMB may produce greater gains in lean muscle mass and strength than creatine alone.

What the three ingredients are
Creatine is a compound stored mainly in skeletal muscle, where it helps regenerate the energy used during short bursts of effort.
HMB, or beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate, is a metabolite of the amino acid leucine that has been studied for its role in muscle protein turnover.
Pomegranate polyphenols supply precursors that the body can convert into urolithin A, a compound studied for its association with mitochondrial renewal.
Elysium frames the launch against the muscle loss that accompanies aging, citing figures that by age 80 muscle mass declines by approximately 30 percent, strength by 40 percent, and power by 50 percent. The company says creatine has expanded beyond sports nutrition into healthy-aging use as research has highlighted muscle health as a factor in mobility and longevity. It positions the added HMB and pomegranate polyphenols as support for recovery, mitochondrial renewal, and cellular energy.

For formulators, the launch signals continued interest in multi-ingredient stacks that pair creatine with complementary actives rather than offering creatine monohydrate alone. Creatine has long featured in interventions intended to preserve lean body mass, and the new product extends that positioning toward the longevity category.
“Over the last several years, creatine has evolved from a supplement primarily associated with athletes and gym-goers into one of the most widely popular interventions for healthy aging. That shift reflects a growing recognition that muscle health is one of the most important predictors of long-term health, independence, and quality of life. At Elysium, we have always focused on translating advances in longevity science into products that help people not just age better but live better. Creatine+ is a natural extension of that mission—a scientifically rigorous formulation designed to support strength today, and to help preserve physical function, resilience, and cognition over the long term.”
Elysium says HMB is included because it works alongside creatine to support recovery and muscle preservation, while the pomegranate-derived polyphenols are intended to support mitochondrial renewal and cellular energy production. The company notes that maintaining muscle health with age involves more than building muscle, citing recovery, reduced exercise-related muscle damage, and cellular energy as additional targets.
Fredericson, who advised on the formulation, framed it around both output and recovery, and noted differences in muscle physiology between men and women:
“Creatine has become one of my favorite supplements for supporting the maintenance of lean body mass, strength, and performance as we age, especially when paired with consistent resistance training. What’s unique about Creatine+ is that it optimizes for two critical components of athletic performance – both output and recovery. I highly recommend creatine for men and women, but women especially face distinct changes in muscle physiology, and Creatine+ offers targeted nutritional support for maintaining performance and vitality.”
Elysium said in its statement that the system is designed to support strength, recovery, and cognition, and to help preserve physical function and resilience over the long term. The firm added that the combination is intended for both men and women, with creatine paired with consistent resistance training as the stated use case.
